Jesus Christ planted the church of Pergamum right on the doorstep of Satan’s throne. Despite their circumstances Jesus Christ did not hold back judgement on the false doctrines that were slipping into the church. Even though it was only ‘some’ that held to these erroneous teachings the Lord held the ‘whole church’ accountable. He also warned them that if they don’t cast out this false teaching then He will come at them with His sword and destroy them.
